Sheffield Community Transport - Bus Services

Sheffield Community Transport now operates a number of local bus services across the city. Our aim is to provide a first class service for all our passengers whether it is on very local services such as the M29, which provides a crucial link to town for the residents of Broomhall, or longer services such as the number 10 which connects people to various key parts of the city.

We have recently won tenders for the operation of the 72A service from Chapeltown through Hoyland to the new employment sites at Manvers and the 61 rural service from Hillsborough to Bradfield.

We have also started a brand new service in Hillsborough – the S6.  This provides a regular 20 minute frequency service from Hillsborough Interchange up to Wisewood.  This is proving to be extremely popular and at £1.00 per trip it is priced very competitively.  This service receives no support apart from the fares taken and has been designed at SCT specifically to meet the needs of local people.

Crosslink Continues
The highly successful Crosslink service operating in the Parson Cross area will now continue to operate for at least another 18 months. This service carries an average of 2,500 passengers every week and has become a real part of local life in the area.

All local bus services operated by SCT use new low-floor vehicles which are accessible for passengers travelling in wheelchairs. We feel very strongly that accessibility is key to promoting public transport and our vehicles are proving this.
