City Ride is a door-to-door service run by Sheffield Community Transport for people who have difficulties using public transport.
The service operates flexible service hours and it is our aim to meet your travel needs . You may travel anywhere within the city of Sheffield.
City Ride has wheelchair accessible minibuses available with low steps and passenger lifts. All are designed to meet the requirements of individual passengers,.
To use this service you need to fill in a registration form but there is currently no charge to become a user of the City Ride service. If you usually use a wheelchair it is your choice to either travel in your wheelchair or to transfer to one of the seats as all the vehicles can safely secure both manual and electric wheelchairs.
We can also accommodate a powered scooter (although you should inform us beforehand and you must be able to transfer to a minibus seat). Our drivers can assist wheelchair users up and down a single step or kerb but, for safety reasons, not up or down a flight of steps.
All passengers must wear seatbelts unless they are holders of a current exemption certificate. Once you have registered you may book a trip on the dedicated City Ride booking line. Once the booking has been logged we will then contact you to let you know whether we have been able to schedule the journey.
Because the service is very popular and demand is extremely high you may only book up to a maximum of two journeys per week. You may take an escort or companion for assistance.
